Prof. Dr. Walterio Mayol-Cuevas (University of Bristol, United Kingdom)
Professor Walterio Mayol-Cuevas is a member of the Computer Science Department of the University of Bristol. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and his BSc from The National University of Mexico. His research with students and collaborators proposed some of the earliest versions of visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and its applications to Robotics and Augmented Reality. These include flagship humanoid robots and early commercial applications of visual mapping for wearable computing. Most recent work includes novel concepts of human-robot interaction, fast Computer Vision methods for scene understanding and algorithms for novel visual sensors and machine learning applications to asses skill. Overall, he enjoys finding interesting problems and novel solutions to problems where humans and artificial systems are involved.
Prof. Dr. Miltos Petridis (Middlesex University London, United Kingdom)
Professor Miltos Petridis is the Head of the Department of Computer Science at Middlesex University London and a Professor of Computer Science. His research interests span the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), Software Engineering, Intelligent Agents and Machine Learning (ML). He has 30 years’ experience in applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques in a business context including a number of industrial collaboration projects. He has secured a large number of grants, including European, EPSRC, Leverhulme and Innovate UK funded projects. He is the author of over 150 peer-refereed papers in the areas of applied Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering.
He is a committee member of the British Computer Society (BCS) Specialist Group on Artificial Intelligence and is the Applications Chair of the Annual AI conference for the last 10 years. He was the founding chair of the Real-AI annual event organized by the BCS, chaired the UKKDD (UK Knowledge Discovery in Data) symposium and chairs the annual UKCBR (Case-based-Reasoning) symposium at Peterhouse, Cambridge since 2005.
Prof Petridis’ research interests focus on a novel Spatio-temporal reasoning approach based on a formal theory of time and space. This work is applied in the context of the Case-based Reasoning technique and methodology and combined with other ML techniques to solve real-world problems. During the past 15 years, Prof Petridis has been concentrating on the automation of Business Workflows with the development of AI techniques for monitoring and planning processes. This work employs a variety of AI techniques, including hybrid AI approaches, ML, High-Performance Computing techniques for Big Data and Explanation-Aware Computing. Prof Petridis’ research work has been successfully applied through various industrial collaborative projects in Engineering, Marketing, Business Process Engineering, Finance, Security, Transport and Health.

With a background in Electronics Engineering, Yousef’s career began in Management Consulting where he worked on strategy setting and organizational restructuring of companies in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and hospitality sectors. In SAP, Yousef’s role is to show businesses how new technology can help future-proof operations. Using his knowledge of various emerging technologies such as AI, Yousef helps business change their business models to make the best use of these technologies.
Badshah Mukherjee
Badshah Mukherjee leads the Middle East & Turkey Analytical Practice team at SAS. He has 15 years of business experience gained during analytics project implementations in government, telecommunications, banking, utility industries. He has applied advanced analytics to solve business problems from the area of anti-money laundering, enhanced due diligence, fraud, energy forecasting, customer experience, and supply chain optimization. He was also the project lead for analytics delivery for “Special Olympics 2019 – Abu Dhabi”. A triple gold medalist from the Faculty of Applied Economics at the University of Lucknow, he has also been a faculty member for MBA courses at business schools in India.
