The Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán is an autonomous public university located in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. The Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán has its faculties and schools distributed across different campuses. In particular, the Campus de Ciencia Exactas e Ingenierías (CCEI) hosting the faculties of Mathematics, Engineering and Chemistry will be the venue of ISICS 2016. The CCEI facilities include several conference rooms, a main auditorium at the Faculty of Engineering named "Aula Magna - Ing. Joaquín Ancona Albertos" (where all the conferences will take place), internet services and grocery stores.

 

The auditorium Aula Magna is located in the Faculty of Engineering a few steps from the main entry.

 

Merida, Mexico

Merida (also known as the “The White City”) is the capital city of the Mexican state of Yucatan and largest city of the Yucatan Peninsula and the cultural and financial capital of the region. Located in the northwest part of the state, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the Gulf of Mexico coast, Merida is a modern, cosmopolitan city with museums, art galleries, restaurants, shops and boutiques. A major center of commerce, Merida is considered the crossroads of the region and one of the most important places to experience the Mayan heritage.

Merida is currently considered as the safest city in Mexico, and its crime statistics are very low, as compared to other cities in the country. In Merida, we can find a friendly environment that is mostly quiet and very relaxed. Merida was awarded City of Peace in 2011.
